'Named after her grandmother, Dominique Moreau has been making wine under the Marie Courtin name since 2005 with a vision to produce a series of single-vineyard, single-variety, single-vintage Champagnes from Biodynamically-grown grapes that are farmed and elaborated with meticulous care. The combination of low yields, clay-limestone soils with bands of Kimmeridgian, and an east/southeast exposure gives the wines both power and cut, with an intense brininess and minerality at their core. The concordance is lively and refreshing, with some brilliant toasty notes to complement the rich apples and oranges, accentuated by brilliant acidity. This is as pure as champagne gets, unfined, unfiltered with zero dosage. A must try!'
